Medical Mafia lawyer: “Waaa! No fair! I wanna do-over!”

Here’s a desperate hiccup of a development in the ongoing Medical Mafia case, a scheme alleged by the federal government in which a network of Nevada doctors and lawyers colluded to rip off clients in personal injury cases. Dr. Kabins Attorneys for Dr. Kabins, who was indicted in March, now want the case against their client dismissed [...]

    Well, that makes sense

Although we read U.S. Sen. Harry Reid’s book, The Good Fight, cover to cover when it first came out, we have to confess we haven’t yet gone out and got the paperback edition, with the new epilogue. But we did read a quote from that epilogue in today’s Las Vegas Sun. “We cannot and must not [...]

Exotic World Weekend

[Burlesque]

It's been said shedding clothes is a woman's oldest and most seductive act. No one knows more about the power of the G-string than vintage vixens Tura Satana (star of cult film Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!), Tempest Storm and Satan's Angel, The Devil's Own Mistress -- just a few of the "titans of tease" appearing during the four-day Burlesque Hall of Fame's Exotic World Weekend.

Dozens of burlesque performers with sassy stage names such as Fanny Tastic, Bonbon Vivant and Clams Casino will shimmy and shake their way through Thursday's Beauty Bar pre-party and Friday's 50th Annual Striptease Reunion Showcase at the Plaza before peaking at the 17th Annual Miss Exotic World Pageant Saturday at Krave. Sin City's own Polynesian Princess, Kalani KoKonuts, will be strutting her stuff, while muy loco El Vez hosts the shindig. In addition to the coveted Miss Exotic World crown, international tassel-twirling stars will be competing for Best Debut, Best Troupe, Best Duo and Best Boylesque.

It's not all bewitching boobs and bustiers, although there will definitely be copious amounts of both. Sunday presents the opportunity for career discussion with a dozen classic headliners, and the Burlesque Bazaar provides plenty of chances to shop for pasties, accessories and autographed memorabilia. The event wraps up with a rooftop VIP poolside party hosted by atomic cutie Cherry Capri and retro-bachelor Java ($125 weekend pass required for admittance, limited availability).

Throughout the weekend, "Breast Defense: Glamour Girls for Early Detection," a partnership of the Burlesque Hall of Fame and Keep A Breast Foundation, will be privately casting celebrity bosoms for artists such as Iggy Pop to paint. The decorated plaster "busts," designed to raise breast cancer awareness, will be displayed at First Friday in June 2008 and, hopefully, the Hall of Fame will have found a permanent location to house their collection before then.
