Allan Havey[Comedy]
Late Night with David Letterman may have had “The Guy Under the Seats” (aka Chris Elliot), but Night After Night with Allan Havey upped the talk show ante with “The Audience of One,” just a single lonely person sitting off-camera in the tiny studio. This hilarious cult hit ran from 1989 to 1992 on the Comedy Channel (now Comedy Central) featuring celeb interviews interspersed with segments such as “Cholesterol Carousel” and sidekick Nick Bakay as the bizzare, fluffy clouds-obsessed character, Dave the Weatherman (before he became the voice of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch’s curiously creepy live/animated cat, Salem). There are no more reservations at the Mobley Hotel (now with soap!) but you can visit The Improv for a trip down memory lane to the riotous good old days of the Magic Comedy Goat.
